This privacy policy explains what data the Android app USB-C Tester collects, uses and shares. We keep it as minimal as possible: the app runs essentially entirely on your device.
No account. You do not need to register. We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number or location.
Local measurement data. When you test a charger or cable, the app reads system properties from your device and the connected hardware:
These measurements are stored locally only, in the app database on your device, so you can review your sessions in the History tab. They are not sent to any server of ours.
The app uses third-party services that may process data themselves. These parties are independent data controllers; their own privacy policies govern what they do.
| Service | Purpose | What data | Policy |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google AdMob | Show ads in the free version | Device identifier (advertising ID), IP address, coarse device and network type, ad interactions | policies.google.com/privacy |
| Google Play Billing | Process the in-app purchase of the Pro version | Purchase token, product code, Google account making the purchase | policies.google.com/privacy |
| Google Play Services | App delivery and updates, platform-level crash and stability signals | Determined by Google Play; see the Play policy | Play privacy |
We only receive aggregated reports from Google (e.g. install counts, ad revenue). We do not receive a list of individual users or their device IDs.
For users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, the app shows a consent screen via Google's User Messaging Platform before ads are loaded. You can choose non-personalised ads; you can change your choice later via Settings → Privacy. Users who buy the Pro version see no ads and no advertising-SDK calls are made.

The app does not request permissions for location, contacts, microphone, camera, calendar, call log or files outside its own app storage.
Local measurement data stays on your device until you delete it. You can:
The app is not specifically targeted at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If we become aware of such data, we will delete it.
Because the app uses Google services, data processed by Google may be stored outside the EEA, with appropriate safeguards as described in Google's privacy policy.
Under the General Data Protection Regulation you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability and objection. Because we ourselves do not maintain a user account or server-side personal data, requests in practice mainly concern data processed by Google — which you can exercise directly through your Google account. For questions about this app you can email us at nordicnode26@gmail.com. You can also lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl) or your local supervisory authority.
We may update this policy from time to time, for example when adding a new SDK. The most recent version is always on this page, with an updated date at the top. We will announce material changes inside the app.
