Refresh Rate Test — Hz Checker (“TrueHz”, package nl.nordicnode.truehz), published by Nordic Node (“we”, “us”).

Last updated: 1 July 2026

The core of this app — measuring your display’s refresh rate — works fully offline and reads nothing personal about you. We only touch the network for advertising, the consent form, optional analytics, crash diagnostics, and the one‑time “remove ads” purchase. Analytics and personalized advertising run only after you consent, and you can change that choice at any time inside the app.

1. Who we are

This app is developed and published by Nordic Node. For any privacy question or request, contact us at nordicnode26@gmail.com.

2. The measurement features collect no personal data

The live Hz meter, the display/panel report, and the visual smoothness test read only what the Android system exposes about your screen (supported modes, the active mode, frame‑timing from the Choreographer callback, and refresh‑rate capabilities). These run entirely on your device, work offline, and are never transmitted to us or anyone else.

3. Data collected through third‑party services

All data collection below happens only where the app connects to the network. Where consent is required, nothing is collected until you have granted it.

PurposeServiceWhat is processedWhen
Advertising Google AdMob (incl. UMP consent) Advertising ID (AD_ID), approximate location (from IP), device/ad‑interaction data used to serve and measure ads. Only if you consent; personalized ads require consent, otherwise non‑personalized ads may be shown.
Analytics Google Firebase Analytics App‑usage events, app/device identifiers, coarse device info and approximate location (from IP). Disabled by default; enabled only after you grant consent (Google Consent Mode). Off entirely if you decline.
Crash & stability diagnostics Google Firebase Crashlytics Crash stack traces, exception data, device model/OS, app version and a random installation identifier. No advertising ID. Active in the published app so we can find and fix crashes. Contains no data that identifies you personally.
Remove‑ads purchase Google Play Billing Purchase/entitlement state for the one‑time “remove ads” product. Payment is handled by Google Play; we never see your payment details. Only if you make the purchase or restore it.

These services are provided by Google. Their processing is governed by the Google Privacy Policy. For advertising specifically, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

4. Consent and how to change it

Before any ad loads and before analytics is enabled, we show Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) consent form where required (e.g. in the EEA, UK, Switzerland and Brazil). Your choice is mirrored to analytics and advertising via Google Consent Mode.

You can review or withdraw your consent at any time via “Manage ad consent” in the app’s settings/info screen. Crash diagnostics (Crashlytics) are treated as app‑stability data, are decoupled from this consent, and never include your advertising ID.

5. Legal bases (GDPR)

6. Data sharing

We do not sell your personal data. Data described above is processed by Google as our service provider (and, for advertising, as an independent controller/partner). We do not share it with any other third parties.

7. Data retention

We retain aggregated analytics and crash data only as long as needed to understand usage and fix problems, subject to Google’s default retention periods. On‑device measurement data is not stored by us at all.

8. International transfers

Google may process data on servers outside your country, including the United States, under appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

9. Children

This app is a general‑audience utility and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. Advertising is configured as not directed to children.

10. Security

Network connections use encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS). No system is perfectly secure, but we minimize what is collected and rely on Google’s hardened infrastructure for the services above.

11. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (e.g. the EEA/UK under GDPR, or California under the CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, contact us at nordicnode26@gmail.com. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in your device’s Android settings.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated “Last updated” date.
