Camera2 Check is a single-purpose diagnostic tool. It reads your device's live camera hardware characteristics (the Camera2 hardware level and manual / RAW / burst capabilities) and shows a derived Google Camera (GCam) compatibility verdict. This policy explains exactly what the app does and does not do with data, and which third-party services are involved.
CameraCharacteristics — hardware capability flags. It never opens the
camera and never accesses, captures, stores, or transmits any photo, video, or live image.Nordic Node, as the developer, does not itself collect, receive, or store any personal information from you. The data handling described below is performed by the third-party services the app embeds.
The app uses the following Google services. Each operates under its own privacy policy:
| Service | Purpose | Data it may process |
|---|---|---|
| Google AdMob | Displays advertising in the app | Advertising identifier, IP address, device and ad-interaction information, used to serve and measure ads (personalized only where you have consented — see section 3) |
| Google Firebase Analytics | Aggregate usage and stability insights | App-instance identifier, device model and OS version, and in-app events |
| Google Firebase Crashlytics | Diagnosing crashes to improve the app | Crash stack traces, device state at the time of a crash, and a crash-instance identifier |
To serve and measure ads, the app declares the Android advertising-ID permission
(com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID). This is the only permission the app
declares.
How Google uses data from apps that use its services: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Where required by law (for example in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland), the app shows a Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) consent form before any ad is requested. Your choice determines whether ads are personalized or non-personalized. You can change your choice at any time from the consent option in the app. If consent is required and not given, ads are not requested.
Camera2 Check is a general-audience utility and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Any data processed by the services above is retained according to Google's policies. Because Nordic Node does not hold a separate database of users, requests to access, correct, or delete your data are generally directed to Google. If you have a question or a request, contact us using the details below and we will help where we can. Depending on your location, you may have rights under the GDPR or other applicable laws to access, rectify, or erase your data, and to withdraw consent.
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
